You may be surprised to learn that some of the best performers in the history of the United States are from Michigan. Yes, you read that right since Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Iggy Pop, Jack White, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, and Kid Rock are all from the Great Lake State.

If you want to see some of these musicians performing live or any other A-list singer onstage, now is the perfect time to visit a site like https://gotstubs.com/region/usa/mi/ and buy tickets for the many concerts in Michigan in 2023. Surprisingly, there are many fantastic upcoming concerts in Michigan by top-class musicians in the following months.

Before you do so, let’s glimpse history and see the top five largest concerts in Michigan history.

Madonna At Pontiac Silverdome in 1987

A Michigan native, the Queen of Pop had one of the most legendary live shows in the Great Lake State at Pontiac Silverdome on August 7th, 1987 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac.

Coming home to play a live concert is always special for artists, especially when they are at the top of their game. And if anyone was at their peak in the 80s, it’s Madonna. She was performing in front of more than 41,000 fans in Pontiac, a show that was part of her Who’s That Girl World Tour in 1987.

Madonna’s setlist for this event consisted of 16 songs. However, what made her concert setlist even more exciting is that from the 8th to the 11th, she performed them as a medley. And not any songs, but some of her greatest hits such as Dress You Up, Material Girl, and Like A Virgin.

Madonna was huge in the 80s, but luckily for you, she is still active and one of the best pop music performers in the world, so don’t miss the chance to purchase tickets for her upcoming 2023 tour.

The Rolling Stones in Detroit in 2005

The legendary British rock band had a phenomenal live show in Detroit at the Ford Field on August 31st, 2005, which is also one of the biggest live concerts in Michigan history.

This concert was part of their A Bigger Bang Tour, promoting their then-new studio album, A Bigger Bang. Even though publicists refused to state the attendance number at this live concert, the calculations say there were more than 40,000 people at this event, which is realistic for Ford Field, especially when The Rolling Stones hit the stage.

It was a magnificent show, and one of the reviews had a fantastic headline to describe this ever – Rolling Stones deliver satisfaction with a bang.

The Stones began the concert with Start Me Up and finished with It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll (But I Like It), a perfect setlist for an excellent Rolling Stones show.

Paul McCartney in Detroit in 2011

The Beatles’ legendary musician, Paul McCartney, played to a crowd of almost 38,000 fans at Comerica Park in Detroit during his On the Run Tour on July 24th, 2011.

Every time Paul McCartney or any other Beatles musician announces a new tour, the music fans ‘go crazy,’ and rightfully so since their concerts are a celebration of pop and rock music. Paul had an impressive concert setlist of 38 songs, which means it’s undoubtedly worth buying concert tickets for any of his upcoming shows in the near and far future.

McCartney played Beatles and the Wings songs, both bands in which he was one of the primary songwriters and performers. He played 30 tracks, then came back for the first encore and played three more, and then a second encore happened, and he played another five tracks.

If you want to attend a Paul McCartney concert in the Great Lake State, you better learn how to buy concert tickets fast since he sells out arenas in a matter of minutes.

U2 At Spartan Stadium in 2011

2011 was evidently a fantastic year to be in Michigan since, besides Paul McCartney, U2 also had a concert at the Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on June 26th, 2011.

This live concert was part of the band’s U2 360° Tour, and they played at Michigan’s Spartan Stadium in front of more than 63,000 fans, while their opening act was none other than Florence and the Machine.

It rarely gets better than this, and U2 played 25 songs. They first played 19 tracks, then came back for their first encore toonily and played two more, and came back again for a second encore and played another four songs, three U2 tracks, and the last one was Elton John’s Rocket Man.

    Eminem in Detroit in 2010

Eminem played two live shows in Detroit in 2010, which is legendary itself, but something else made these shows even more unique.

His two concerts were part of the legendary The Home & Home Tour, which was unlike anything else in the music industry since it consisted of only four concerts, two in Detroit and two in New York. He performed with Jay-Z, so they played two concerts in Detroit, the hometown of Eminem, and two concerts in New York, the hometown of Jay-Z. Even though Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, he spent much of his childhood in Detroit.

The Detroit shows happened at Comerica Park on September 2nd and 3rd, 2010, and it’s needless to say that thousands of fans came to see two of the greatest rappers ever perform. In addition, the audio of Eminem’s performance in his hometown was released by his radio station, Shade 45. His concert setlist included many hit tracks, and on September 2nd, he came back for an encore performance of one of his most legendary songs, Lose Yourself.

Do you know what’s one of the best things about these best concerts in Michigan history?

All of the singers and bands on this list are still active! Therefore, please don’t waste any more of your precious time and buy concert tickets for their upcoming shows in Michigan or any other place where they plan to perform in 2023.
